Growth arrest-specific 6, also known as GAS6, is a human gene coding for the Gas6 protein. It is mapped to 13q34. This gene encodes a gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) -containing protein thought to be involved in the stimulation of cell proliferation. This gene is frequently overexpressed in many cancers and has been implicated as an adverse prognostic marker. Elevated protein levels are additionally associated with a variety of disease states, including venous thromboembolic disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, chronic renal failure, and preeclampsia. Gas6 is a gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) domain-containing protein thought to be involved in the stimulation of cell proliferation.

Aviva's human GAS6 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for GAS6 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (Expression system for standard: NS0, Immunogen sequence: A49-A678) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for GAS6 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substmousee TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The absorbance of yellow is proportional to the human Fibronectin amount of sample captured in plate.
