ZIP5 antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid synthetic peptide near the center of human ZIP5. The immunogen is located within amino acids 330 - 380 of ZIP5.

Target

May play a role in polarized cells by carrying out serosal-to-mucosal zinc transport. Plays a role in eye development. Could regulate the BMP/TGF-beta (bone morphogenetic protein/transforming growth factor-beta) signaling pathway and modulates extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins of the sclera (PubMed:24891338) . Seems to play a central role in controlling organismal zinc status (By similarity) .

Reconstitution

ZIP5 antibody can be stored at 4° C for three months and -20° C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.

Specificity

ZIP5 antibody is human and mouse reactive. Multiple isoforms of ZIP5 are known to exist. ZIP5 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with other ZIP family members.
