MME Antibody

CD10 (neutral endopeptidase Ã¢â‚¬â€œ NEP, common acute lymphocytic leukemia antigen Ã¢â‚¬â€œ CALLA, membrane metallo-endopeptidase Ã¢â‚¬â€œ MME, enkefalinase) is a 100-kDa cell surface zinc metalloprotease, cleaving peptide bonds on the N-terminus of hydrophobic amino acids and inactivating multiple physiologically active peptids. CD10 is expressed on various normal cell types, including lymphoid precursor cells, germinal center B lymhocytes, and some epithelial cells, and its expression level serves as a marker for diagnostics of many carcinomas. CD10 is also a differentiation antigen for early B-lymphoid progenitors in the B-cell differentiation pathway and has a key role in regulation of growth, differentiation and signal transduction of many cellular systems.

Able to cleave angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2 and angiotensin 1-9 (PubMed:15283675) . Involved in the degradation of atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) (PubMed:2531377, PubMed:2972276) . Displays UV-inducible elastase activity toward skin preelastic and elastic fibers (PubMed:20876573) .
