Palmitoyl serinol (N-Palmitoyl serinol), an analog of the endogenous cannabinoid N-palmitoylethanolamine, significantly stimulated an IL-4-mediated decrease in cellular ceramide levels in human epidermal keratinocytes (KC) . Palmitoyl serinol stimulates the production of specific ceramide species and neurotransmitters through an endogenous cannabinoid receptor CB1-dependent mechanism. production of specific ceramide species as well as the total amount of ceramide.
