L-threo-PPMP is an inhibitor of GlcT, which is the UDP-Glc: Ceramide ?1,1glucosyltransferase enzyme. It effectively inhibits glycosphingolipid biosynthesis, while also inducing apoptosis. These properties of L-threo-PPMP contribute to its notable anti-cancer activity.
