Inostamycin A, a bacterial metabolite isolated from Streptomyces with antimicrobial and anticancer activity, is a selective inhibitor of CDP-diacylglycerol:inositol 3-phosphatidyltransferase, thereby blocking the phosphatidylinositol turnover.Inostamycin A induces apoptosis in cancer cells and exhibits concentration-dependent cytotoxicity in a variety of cancer cell lines.
