Naldemedine (S 297995) is a peripheral selective ?-opioid receptor antagonist being developed by Shionogi for the treatment of opioid-induced adverse reactions, including constipation, nausea, and vomiting. They are usually well tolerated, mainly with mild to moderate gastrointestinal side effects.
