MK761 has ?-adrenergic receptor antagonist and vasodilator properties in a single molecule and is as effective at blocking cardiac and vascular ?-adrenergic receptors as timolol and indololol. The compound exhibited ?-adrenergic receptor blocking activity in vitro in the isolated papillary muscle of the cat heart and in the isolated rat atria.
