Resorufin galactopyranoside is a fluorescent substrate for ?-galactosidase.After cleavage by ?-galactosidase, the fluorescent portion of resorufin is released and its fluorescence can be used to quantify ?-galactosidase activity. It has an excitation light of 570 and an emission light of 580 nm.
