Icariin
Icariin is the active component of the Chinese medicinal plant E. brevicornum that acts as an inhibitor of human phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) (IC₅₀ = 5.9 μM). Icariin also promotes the growth and proliferation of neural stem cells from rat hippocampus in a dose-dependent manner.
