Cholesteryl hemisuccinate

Cholesteryl hemisuccinate is a useful cholesterol-based detergent that increases the stability of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Together with mutagenesis studies and recent GPCR structures, it has been determined that stabilization is attained through a combination of specific sterol binding to GPCRs and modulation of micelle morphology.
