7-Aminoactinomycin D
7-Aminoactinomycin D (7-AAD) is a fluorescent dye that undergoes a spectral shift upon association with DNA. It distinguishes viable, apoptotic, and late apoptotic/dead cells in flow cytometry. It can also be used to stain DNA in cells that have been fixed and permeabilized by a variety of methods.
