The MYD88 protein is a key adapter in Toll-like receptor (TLR) and IL-1 receptor signaling and can activate NF-kappa-B, cytokine secretion and inflammatory responses through IRAK1, IRAK2, IRF7 and TRAF6. It enhances IL-8 transcription and participates in IL-18-mediated pathways.
