GFRA2, also known as GDNFR-α-2, acts as a receptor for neurotrophic factor (NRTN) and promotes NRTN-induced autophosphorylation and RET receptor activation. In addition to neurotrophic factor signaling, GFRA2 can also mediate GDNF signaling through the RET tyrosine kinase.
