Anti-MPXV M1R mAb
Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV), which is a member of orthopoxvirus genus. M1R is homologous to the vaccinia virus L1 protein, a transmembrane protein found on the surface of mature IMV particles. Encoded by the L1R ORF, it is highly conserved, participates in virion assembly, and plays an important role in viral entry and maturation. L1 is required for induction of cell-cell fusion at low pH and is critical for vaccinia virus replication. Co-immunoprecipitation experiments showed that L1 interacts with A28 or some other components of the entry/fusion complex (EFC), and indirectly with F9, suggesting that L1 is an additional component of the viral entry apparatus. L1-MVs can attach to cells but cannot enter or induce membrane fusion. L1 physically interacts with EFC and interacts with other known entry protein synergy.L1R is a myristoylated protein responsible for virion assembly and being present on intracellular mature virion (IMV) surface, it is also a potent target for eliciting neutralizing antibodies.
