Sodium methylarsonate
Sodium methylarsonate (Monosodium methylarsonate) is an organoarsenic compound with environmental toxicity that can be used as a herbicide to control weeds. Sodium methylarsonate interferes with plant metabolic processes, particularly by hindering photosynthesis and protein synthesis, ultimately leading to plant death. Additionally, sodium methylarsonate can induce the production of metallothioneins (MTs) in fish[1].
