Naphthaleneacetic Acid (NAA)
Naphthaleneacetic (NAA) powder is a synthetic plant hormone that belongs to the family of auxins. It is widely used in agriculture and plant tissue culture to promote rooting in plants.
Product Specifications
Synonyms
K-NAA; 1-Naphthaleneacetic Acid
HS Code
2916.39
Applications
It is a rooting agent and used for the vegetative propagation of plants from stem and leaf cuttings.
NAA, combined with other hormones, stimulates root initiation in the in vitro plantlets.
NAA application after flower fertilization can improve fruit set.
It’s also used for agricultural and home gardening uses.
Assay Protocol
Follow the given steps to prepare the tissue culture media using PCT’s NAA Powder:
Prepare liquid tissue culture media using PCT’s MS or DKW media, or any other alternative media based on your plant.
Add sugar based on the quantity of media you’re making (generally for 1-liter media 30 grams of sugar is added), 1 ml/L PPM, and 3-4 grams per liter of gellan gum or 6-8 grams per liter of agar.
Then, add the desired quantity of NAA from the prepared NAA stock solution.
Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121°C.
Your media is ready!
