Specificity
This antibody recognizes E cadherin which is one of the most important molecules in cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. It is localized on the surfaces of epithelial cells in regions of cell-cell contact known as adherens junctions. The 4A2 monoclonal antibody recognizes the cytoplasmic domain of E-cadherin. The epitope has been mapped to residues 757-778.
