MHY 553 is an oral PPARα agonist that alleviates liver steatosis by increasing fatty acid oxidation and reducing inflammation during the aging process. MHY553 inhibits triglyceride accumulation induced by liver X receptor agonists in HepG2 cells. MHY553 significantly suppresses inflammatory mRNA expression in aged rats[1].
