CD6 Human
Source:Sf9, Baculovirus cells.Physical Appearance:Sterile filtered colorless solution.Biological ActivityWhen cells are added to human CD6 coated plates at 10 ug/ml, this effect is more to 50%. It is defined as the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cells.CD6 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed primarily on T cells. CD6 is expressed by mature T-cells, thymocytes, a subset of B-cells known as B-1 cells, and by cells in the brain (some of them) . CD6 is a member of the group B SRCR (scavenger receptor cysteine-rich) superfamily. CD6 plays a role as both a co-stimulatory molecule in T cell activation and as an adhesion receptor. CD6 binds to CD166 and is considered as a costimulatory molecule involved in lymphocyte activation and thymocyte development.CD6 produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 627 amino acids (18-402a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 68.3kDa.CD6 is expressed with a 239 amino acid hIgG-His-Tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
