Recombinant Mouse IFN gamma (C-His)
Source : Human 293 Cells; Mouse Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma/IFNG) is a secreted protein that belongs to the type II (gamma) interferon family. IFNG is primarily expressed by T lymphocytes, and activated by specific antigens or mitogens. In addition to having antiviral activity, IFNG also has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages and has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells as well as enhance the antitumor effects of the type I interferons. IFNG also functions as an anti-inflammatory mediator by promoting the development of regulatory T cells and inhibiting Th17 cell differentiation. The pleiotropic effects of IFN-gamma contribute to the development of multiple aspects of atherosclerosis.
