α-Turmerone

α-turmerone is a turmerone. α-turmerone can be isolated from Curcuma longa. α-turmerone decreases the expression of cyclin D1, pro-caspases-3 and -8 and down-regulates Bcl-2 expression. α-turmerone causes mitochondrial transmembrane depolarization. α-turmerone induces Apoptosis. α-turmerone has immunostimulatory effects. α-turmerone has anti-cancer activity against liver cancer and breast cancer[1].
