Recombinant human NRG1/HRG1 protein
Neuregulin-1 (NRG1), also known as ARIA, is one of four proteins in the neuregulin family that act on the EGFRfamily of receptors. It has multiple isoforms that aregenerated by usage of different promoters and alternative splicing of a single gene. This protein regulates multiple nervous system functions including axon guidance, synapse formation and plasticity, glial cell development, and axon myelination. In the heart, it regulates organ morphogenesis and contractility and also plays a cardioprotective role following tissue injury. NRG1 is essential for the development and function of multiple organ systems, and itsdysregulation has been linked to diseases such as cancer and schizophrenia. Recombinant human NRG1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatographytechniques.
