ARG2 Antibody

Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. At least two isoforms of mammalian arginase exists (types I and II) which differ in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic crossreactivity and physiologic function. ARG2 (type II isoform) is located in the mitochondria and expressed in extra-hepatic tissues, especially kidney. The physiologic role of this isoform is poorly understood; it is thought to play a role in nitric oxide and polyamine metabolism.Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. The type II isoform encoded by this gene, is located in the mitochondria and expressed in extra-hepatic tissues, especially kidney. The physiologic role of this isoform is poorly understood; it is thought to play a role in nitric oxide and polyamine metabolism. Transcript variants of the type II gene resulting from the use of alternative polyadenylation sites have been described. For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store ARG2 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

ARG2 antibody can be used for detection of ARG2 by ELISA at 1:312500. ARG2 antibody can be used for detection of ARG2 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
