The PSAT1 protein plays a central role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the reversible conversion of 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate to phosphoserine and 3-hydroxy-2-oxo-4-phosphonooxybutyrate to phosphohydroxythreonine.
