Cytokeratin 5,8
Product Specifications
NCBI Gene ID
25626
Reactivity
Canine, Hamster, Human, Mammal, Mouse, Porcine, Rabbit, Rat
Storage Conditions
May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 °C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Specificity
Directed against the 58kD and 52.2kD cytokeratin proteins (cytokeratins 5 and 8), reacts with all epithelial cell types. No reaction is observed in non-epithelial tissues. Can be used for the discrimination of carcinomas from non-epithelial tumors such as lymphomas, sarcomas and neural tumors. Species Crossreactivity: Human, most mammals including mouse, rat, hamster, rabbit, canine and porcine.
