Anti-IL1RA Antibody (monoclonal, 12C13)

Boster Bio Anti-IL1RA Antibody Picoband® (monoclonal, 12C13) catalog # M00651-1. Tested in ELISA applications. This antibody reacts with Rat.

Product Specifications

Background

The interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL1RN gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This protein inhibits the activities of interleukin 1, alpha (IL1A) and interleukin 1, beta (IL1B), and modulates a variety of interleukin 1 related immune and inflammatory responses. This gene and five other closely related cytokine genes form a gene cluster spanning approximately 400 kb on chromosome 2. A polymorphism of this gene is reported to be associated with increased risk of osteoporotic fractures and gastric cancer. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

Immunogen

E. coli-derived rat IL1RA recombinant protein (Position: H27-Q178) . Rat IL1RA shares 77.6% and 90.7% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with human and mouse IL1RA, respectively.

Clone: 12C13

Tissue Specificity

Present in most normal tissues. Higher expression observed in epithelial cells with secretory and excretory functions, as well as in cells chronically exposed to xenobiotics, such as bronchial cells and cells lining the intestine. Overexpressed in many multidrug-resistant cancer cells.

Applications

ELISA

Field of Research

Cardiogenesis, Cardiovascular,2339, DNA/RNA, Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling, Transcription Factors/Regulators

Purification

Immunogen affinity purified.

Concentration

Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.

Form

Lyophilized

Reconstitution

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

Function

Required for normal vault structure. Vaults are multi-subunit structures that may act as scaffolds for proteins involved in signal transduction. Vaults may also play a role in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. Down-regulates IFNG-mediated STAT1 signaling and subsequent activation of JAK. Down-regulates SRC activity and signaling through MAP kinases.

Storage Conditions

Store at -20°C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
