Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level Ceruloplasmin (CP) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Ceruloplasmin is a blue, copper-binding (6-7 atoms per molecule) glycoprotein. It has ferroxidase activity oxidizing Fe (2+) to Fe (3+) without releasing radical oxygen species. It is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. Provides Cu (2+) ions for the ascorbate-mediated deaminase degradation of the heparan sulfate chains of GPC1. May also play a role in fetal lung development or pulmonary antioxidant defense (By similarity) .

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Ceruloplasmin (CP) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Ceruloplasmin (CP) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Ceruloplasmin (CP) level in the sample or standard.
