CD15/ Lewis X antigen/ alpha-(1,3)-fucosyltransferase 4
Product Specifications
Background
CD15 is a carbohydrate that is referred to as the Lewis X antigen, also known as alpha-(1,3)-fucosyltransferase 4, which is expressed on a variety of glycolipids and glycoproteins found on the cell surface of neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils and non-hematopoietic tissues including embryonic tissues. CD15 is reported to function as an adhesion molecule and is involved in chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Expression of CD15 is also associated with a wide variety of tumour cells including some adenocarcinomas and certain types of myeloid and lymphoid leukaemias. Reed-Sternberg cells, found in cases of Hodgkins Lymphoma, also express CD15 and antibodies recognising the CD15 antigen are often used to help differentiate between Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Source
BRA4F1 is a mouse IgM monoclonal antibody derived from the fusion of SP2.0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cells with splenocytes from a BALB/c mouse immunized with K562 cells.
Applications
Flow Cytometry, IHC (frozen), IHC (paraffin), ICC
Field of Research
CD markers, Cancer, Cell adhesion, Immunology
Assay Principle
The BRA4F1 antibody is suitable for the detection of CD15 by flow cytometry, immunocytochemisty and immunohistochemistry of frozen and paraffin embedded tissues.
Optimal antibody dilutions for the different applications should be determined by titration.
Form
Each vial contains 100 µL 1mg/mL purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0,09% sodium azide The product is delivered in lyophilised format.
Precautions
This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving Humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water.

Storage Conditions
The antibody is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; For prolonged storage prepare appropriate aliquots and store at or below -20°C; Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2); Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided; Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day; If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation; It will not affect the performance or the concentration of the product
